Laboratorios Edo SAS, aware of the importance of environmental care, began its work on environmental programs in 2018, implementing actions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its processes in order to contribute to sustainability.

Among its implemented programs with visible results, we have, among others:

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

We implement training programs for all company personnel in order to disseminate and teach, through small actions, the discipline of environmental management from wherever we are, including: the 3Rs Plan, the waste segregation plan at the source, the materials reuse plan, recycling; lessons on water and air pollution from toxic substances that come from materials we use at work and in daily life, personal care, and waste management.

WATER MANAGEMENT

Laboratorios EDO , within its water for injection production process, properly manages byproducts, reusing them in other operational stages. The results of this implementation show an average annual savings of 628 m³, equivalent to the daily consumption of 4,186 people.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Laboratorios EDO SAS manages 100% of the hazardous waste generated in its operations and in the collection of expired and partially used products through a waste management company authorized by IDEAM, employing energy recovery as the final disposal method. As of October 2024, this treatment allowed us to avoid the generation of 5.32 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.

It also contributes to the reuse and recycling of materials such as paper, cardboard and glass, and manages packaging and usable materials.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

In 2020, at our ACOPI headquarters in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, the implementation of the photovoltaic energy generation system began.

In the first stage of the project, 263 solar panels were installed. In 2024, the second stage was carried out, increasing the installed capacity to 343 with 80 additional solar panels.

The results of this implementation show that during the period 2020-2024, environmental management reflects a decrease of approximately 630 metric tons of CO2 into the environment.

CARBON FOOTPRINT MEASUREMENT

In 2024, with the aim of understanding our carbon footprint, we began measuring the years 2022 and 2023. The results obtained are the starting point for analysis and strategic decision-making that will lead to actions aimed at reducing it, working on good environmental practices and making continuous improvement a corporate policy.

We share our carbon footprint measurement certificate issued by Fenalco within its environmental program:
